- Feature 1: Soluble Fiber
Soluble fiber plays an important role in healthy fermentation. Fiber-Sel™ contains a unique fiber source. This fiber has the best combination of desirable characteristics of any water deliverable fiber source currently available. Some of these properties are its ability to enhance both Lactobacillus and Bifidobacteria development, its ability to stimulate immune cell production, and its ability to resist breakdown in liquid stock solutions.
- Feature 2: Organic Acid
Fiber-Sel™ contains Citric acid. Citric acid is an organic acid that has been shown to inhibit many pathogens. Citric acid supports and enhances the beneficial effects of the unique soluble fiber supplementation.

- Feature 1: Natural Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a power anti-oxidant that protects cell membranes and is an essential nutrient for proper immune function. During periods of high stress, such as a viral challenge, vitamin E levels are rapidly depleted. When exposed to one of the many viruses common in commercial production, calves need a highly available vitamin E source that can be both rapidly absorbed and efficiently utilized to replenish depleted tissues levels of vitamin E. Fiber-Sel™ contains an all natural source of Vitamin E (D-α-Tocopheryl acetate) which meets both of these requirements. The D-α-Tocopheryl acetate form has a rapid rate of absorption and it is utilized up to twice as efficiently as the synthetic DL-α-Tocopheryl acetate form of the vitamin E commonly utilized for normal supplementation.
- Feature 2: Organic Selenium
Selenium is an essential nutrient required for immune function and production of anti-oxidant enzymes. Young calves are born with low body reserves of selenium. Selenium is available in cow's milk, but the rapid growth rate of the young calves allows for only modest improvement in body stores prior to weaning. Weaning stress, slow adaptation to feed, and the .3 ppm selenium feed supplementation restriction can leave the weanling calf with a very marginal selenium status. Normal weanling calf growth levels may be obtainable if there are no disease challenges, but performance suffers when selenium levels decrease rapidly in health challenged animals. Fiber-Sel™ contains a highly available blend of sodium selenite and selenium yeast (an organic Se source). This blend provides highly available selenium for both immediate antioxidant functions and the building of body reserves.
Directions for Use: (1 oz. = 30cc)
- Day 1-7: 1⁄2 oz. to 5 head per feeding (14 cc to 5 head or 3 cc per head)
- Day 8-14: 1⁄2 oz. to 20 head per feeding (14 cc to 20 head or 3⁄4 cc per head)
- In times of stress, can give an additional 5 cc per head one time only
- (1 oz. Fiber-Sel™ provides 2.65 mg selenium and 535 IU of vitamin E activity.)
